Yokohama / 横浜
As a friend of mine whom I met in Freiburg came to Yokohama, we went sightseeing in the city together. Though I live in Yokohama-City, but I don’t go to the city central at all. So it was also interesting for me, too.
Freiburgに住んでいるときに知り合った北海道在住の友人が横浜に来ていたので、これを機とばかりに２人で横浜の市内観光をしていました。私も一応は横浜市在住なんですが、市の中心部になんてぜんぜん来ないもんですから、市民の私にとっても結構おもしろいものになりました。
Yesterday I thought that we’ll walk from Yokohama station to China town by foot, but I noticed today in the train, “It’s too far.” The distance is about 3 stations by train.
Therefore we planned that we go only till where we can reach, and then we started. As we don’t meet about 2 years long, we had a lively conversation, and we noticed…
We walked through Minato-Mirai area 21 and Yamashita-Park and got to China town at the end.
昨日の時点では横浜駅から中華街まで歩こうかと漠然と考えてたんですが、今日ふと電車の中で「あぁ、こりゃ遠いな」と気が付きました。この距離ってのは、ＪＲ線の駅３つ分に相当するんですよね。
そういうわけで、まぁとりあえず行けるところまで行こうかと歩き始めたんですが、約２年ぶりに会ったこともあり話がはずみましてね、で、ふと気が付いたんですよね。
どうも私たち２人は、みなとみらい２１地区、山下公園を通り抜け、最終的に歩いて中華街に着いてしまったのでした。
After we visited some places in that area, we arrived at Osanbashi (Great Pier). I didn’t know that this pier is so great. Not only because of its size but also its form as a structure. The all surface is made of wood, and its form is like a wave or a creature. (They say it comes from a whale.) This pier is really cool… And the inside is also beautiful, I think. 幾つかの場所を周った後、最終的には大桟橋にたどり着きました。いやぁ、この大桟橋がこれほどスゴイとは知りませんでした。その大きさもですが、その構造物としての形がスゴイ。外観は木で覆われていて、その形はなんというか波のような何かの生物のような。（資料によると鯨を模しているらしいです） 特に階をつなぐスロープの処理が、うまいなぁと思いました。う～む、かっこいい。そして中も美しい。下に出入国ロビーの写真を入れておきます。（クリックすると拡大します）

ちょうど出港まで見られたんですが、目の前で横倒しの高層マンション（例えが悪い）が走り出す様は、なんか迫力ありました。
